Random Thoughts

I went to Bahr's on Saturday. They had on "super discount" lots of boxes of condoms, that expired in 2003! There are several things I would consider buying at a discount. However, preventing pregnancy doesn't go to the lowest bidder.

A friend asked me to join a mid-season fantasy league. Using my managerial expertise, I didn't participate in the draft, nor have I made more than three moves. I'm in 2nd place.

Also, do you realize that if Selena was alive today, we wouldn't have to deal with JLo? Now if we could figure out who to bring back from the dead to get rid for a few other 'celebrities', I'm up for the seance.

Five Stocks That Rock

Ok, I'm bored. I have been researching some hot stocks, but with so much money, there is only so much I can do. So here is a hot-5 list for ya. There are some monster picks here!

1) Universal Display (PANL - $12.16) - This tech pick is above awesome. Take a flat display, think flatter. No even flatter. Once you flatten that, think PANL. This company is putting displays on a roll in ways far too cool to imagine... a pull out from an ink pen or a refreahing newspaper. This is sexy cool!

2) Quidel (QDEL - $6.26) - I'm kicking myself for not buying this $1 cheaper. People all over the world have to worry about the flu. These people have a flu test (http://www.flutest.com/) and are buying back $25 million in stock!

3) Vasogen (VSGN - $5.45) - If today was any better for me, I would have bought this today... maybe tomorrow. Older people, like me you young Async'ers, are going to deal with problems like chronic heart failure and arterial disease. Vasogen has a plan... take some of the patient's blood, run it through their machine and inject it back in (the ass - for you Team America fans). The changed blood causes the body to heal itself (no drugs required). This will be available in the US in 2006, while Vasogen will be tackling neuro disorders. Incredible stuff!

4 & 5) Gas prices are high, which spurs activity to improve supply. So I pick two companies to benefit...

4) Newpark Resources (NR - $7.79) which I own. This company services drillers, which are getting the business right now. I think $17 is conservative, the possibility is so much greater!

5) ENGlobal Corp. (ENG - $4.95) - Here is another company that services refiners as well as other oil firms. The stock is jumping like crazy with no pumping to the public. The stock hasn't caught up to 1X sales, making it an amazing value!

Buy at your own risk, while I go to bed.
