Carpool Rap
It was the late 80's. Rap was still pretty new. Niches abounded in the marketplace.
Travelling westbound I-40 in the green dartFERRARI, the Apex tandem of Baba-Lou Lausevich and yours truly toiled in daily commute without a radio. (Heck, I think the dF barely had a rear floor, which made beer cans disappear, but I digress).
It was one for these trips that Lou and I started rappin'. Lou did the sound mix (vocal of course, fitting the budget) and I did the lyrics. We became self-famous as "Two White Guys Who Can't Rap, But Try Anyway".
The return on investment is priceless. Louie and I, plus several old Apex Oil people, still talk and get together on rare occasions today. Maybe that's why I love St Louis. It is a great city of great people who never lose touch as years roll on.
Heck, I should rap about it.
